Drifter is a wonderful PWD. He is a regal looking black wavy with a white chest. Drifter measures 21 1/2 inches at the withers and is 62 pounds. He is well boned with a great top skull and muzzle. His movement is smooth and effortless with an excellent side gait and a clean down and back. Drifter has been shown since he was 6 months of age. He became an AKC Champion at 10 months and went on to compete at the Best of Breed level as a Special. He is a Multiple Group winning PWD.
Among Drifter’s may accomplishments are two Awards of Merit at the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America National Specialty in 2007 and 2008. He was #3 PWD in the United States for the year 2007 and has been ranked in the Top Ten from 2006 to 2009. Drifter accomplished all this while living with us and being” ring-sided” to various wonderful handlers. Kay Palade-Peiser, Aaron Wilkerson and Don Powell are all to be congratulated for the outstanding jobs they did presenting Drifter. Drifter came from Driftwood Kennels and was bred by Morgin Powell and Colette Livingston. His dam, Titanic, BIS, BISS, CH Driftwood’s Ship of Dreams, won the PWDCA National Specialty and his sire, Deuce, INt’L/ AM/CAN CH Driftwood’s Bacchus Dos, was Stud Dog of the Year at PWDCA National Specialty in 2007. Drifter has had all health testing and is rated Normal and/or Clear for GM-1, OptiGen, JDCM, an CERF. His hips are “Excellent” and his elbows “Normal”.
